Focus Group for Tribal Victim Services

August 5, 2016

Greetings,

You are invited to attend an Urban Indian Focus Group for the Tribal Resource Mapping Project in Los Angeles, CA and St Paul, MN. The Focus Groups are for TLPI’s Tribal Resource Mapping Project which will create a victim/survivor services map for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) victims/survivors of crime. Please visit: www.VictimsofCrime.org/Tribal_ResourceMapping for more information on the project.

Given your expertise, we invite your participation to help create a web-based resource mapping tool that will link AI/AN victims/survivors of crime and abuse to tribal victim services throughout the country. Since the needs of Urban Indians are unique, we are seeking focused input from Urban Indian programs and services to ensure the Tribal Resource Mapping Project will produce a mapping took that meets your needs.

To participate please send your name and organization (if applicable) to: FocusGroups@tlpi.org by August 26, 2016 to reserve your seat. The first 20 participants to successfully sign-up and attend each focus group will receive a $40 stipend for participating.

All participants will need to sign and complete an informed consent form, either via email or on the day of the focus group. This is a standard form used in research-related activities—such as focus groups—where individuals will be asked about sensitive topics or topics that might lead to discussion of sensitive information. This ensures that everyone’s participation is voluntary and that all participants understand any privacy or other risks that might be involved. The consent form and focus group information is available at:
https://victimsofcrime.org/our-programs/tribal-resource-mapping-project/events/upcoming-events

If you have any questions regarding the RSVP process, consent form, or focus group, please contact: FocusGroups@tlpi.org.

We are also seeking general input and service lists; if you would like to help please send an email to: TribalResourceMapping@ncvc.org.
