SAMHSA Funding Available to Expand Treatment Capacity in Treatment Courts

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has released its FY23 solicitation for treatment courts. The program’s purpose is to expand substance use disorder treatment and recovery support services in existing treatment courts. The population of focus is adults diagnosed with a substance use disorder as their primary condition.

The application deadline is March 6, 2023.

About the Grant Program
This grant program is for state, local, or tribal entities seeking funding to expand treatment in their existing adult or family treatment court program; examples are adult drug treatment courts, tribal healing to wellness courts, driving while intoxicated (DWI)/driving under the influence (DUI) courts, co-occurring drug and mental health courts, and veterans treatment courts.

  • Award amount:Up to $400,000 per year per award
  • Award period:Up to 5 years
